Make social posts, flyers and menus: which AI tools people use, and a simple workflow

"I need things to look professional without hiring a designer."

Tools that fit this job

Listed in no ranking order. Each line states only what the vendor's own page says. Prices are on each tool page with a source and date.

• Canva: A design tool with templates and AI features on paid plans; Pro lists 5 Brand Kits.
• ChatGPT: Can draft the wording and caption ideas; the Free plan has limited image creation.
• Claude: Can draft the wording; it is a text assistant first.

Free-first tip: try the free plan, or the AI that comes with software you already pay for, before buying anything new. Do not install a pile of tools; start with one.

A simple workflow

This workflow is our own suggestion, not vendor documentation.

1. Write the plain message first: what, when, price, where.
2. Ask a chat assistant for three short caption options.
3. Put the winner into a template in your design tool and set your colors and logo once as a brand kit.
4. Check every date, price and address by eye.
5. Save the finished design as a reusable template.

Copy-paste starter prompt

Write 3 short social captions (under 25 words each) announcing [offer] at [business type] on [date]. Friendly, no hype, no claims we cannot prove.

Watch-outs

• Do not use AI images that imply a real product, person or result you do not have. The FTC expects advertising claims to be truthful and backed up.
• Check the license terms for any stock or AI media before using it in ads.
